Trifecta, hat trick, triple play: No matter what you call it, Aflac has achieved a rare honor by being named to Fortune magazine’s Fortune 500, 100 Best Companies to Work For and World’s Most Admired Companies lists. Not only is it the only insurer on all three lists, it’s one of just 18 companies to accomplish this feat, period. In addition, Ethisphere named Aflac one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the fifth consecutive year.
As an independent producer (the term that has generally replaced “agent” and “broker”), I get to choose which companies I represent, and I represent dozens for the purpose of being able to customize solutions with great value. Like people, no company is perfect, yet some tend to shine. I’m proud to represent Aflac.
The Duck is more than just a funny bird. It symbolizes a down to earth company that delivers when its customers need it most. Although Aflac is supplemental insurance, sometimes “supplemental” is an understatement. I have the privilege to time and again witness how it helps people in drastic circumstances, to see tears of joy, hear sighs of relief, or receive hugs when I hand them a check only days after helping them file their claim. The Duck — so much more than funny.
